Prefabricated atrium house types Neckermann Eigenheim AG
Rising land prices close to the city on the one hand and the large number of people interested in owning their own home on the other were the driving force behind the search for solutions that would reduce costs: small plots, industrial production and joint and simultaneous construction management and realisation of at least 50 house units. With the Atrium house types, carpet house estates were to be built on plots close to the city centre. Four different types with a uniform width of around ten metres were developed which, despite their different sizes and floor plans, could be combined seamlessly to form a closed development.
Common to all types is the square 'core cell' with the entrance and service courtyard, where the covered external staircase to the cellar is located, a multi-purpose room in front, the hallway with cloakroom and WC, the kitchen and a living room of around 40 square metres, which is additionally lit by a skylight in the 'trapped' part. In the smallest flat, which only consists of the core cell, the living space is reduced by the bedroom and a small bathroom is planned in place of the cloakroom with WC. In the larger types, the bedroom, bathroom and shower are lined up along a wardrobe corridor and can be accessed via the living room. The houses are built in heavy concrete panelled construction. Heating is provided by district heat. Each unit is also equipped with a fireplace. The residential density is 140 people/ha.
